LIS was a Praxon certified reseller and maintainer since the system was launched in the UK. When Praxon inc. ceased trading in October 2001, we had obvious concerns about our user base and how we could continue to support them. This situation was complicated by the fact that the UK Praxon distributorship was being transferred to a new company at the time! There seemed to be every possibility of these organisations playing reverse pass-the-parcel, each being reluctant to be saddled with the costs and liabilities of the now defunct system.

In order to give us the ability to provide ongoing support, we decided to buy all remaining stock in the distribution channel and preserve it as a maintenance stock for our clients. We also acquired the latest system code and beta code. Whilst this was a considerable (unexpected) expense, there seemed no other way to guarantee that our client’s systems could be kept working.

As a result LIS now holds the only significant stock of parts for Praxon in the UK and has retained the expertise in installing and maintaining the system. We have guaranteed to our subscription customers that we will grant them exclusive use of the maintenance stock, but where there are items over and above the needs of our existing client base, we will be happy to allow these to be used for new clients.
